Nyack, New York - September 6, 2011: Celtic Racing Fast By Ferracci rider PJ Jacobsen wrapped up a tough weekend at the AMA Pro Racing Championship weekend in Millville, New Jersey on September 2-4.
Jacobsen finished in 8th position on Saturday and suffered a mechanical DNF in Sunday’s race. While the results were not what the team had expected, Jacobsen continued to prove his talent with several fast laps throughout the weekend. The young New York racer has wrapped up the 2011 AMA Pro Season and is now eager to show that he will be a contender coming into the 2012 season.
Eraldo Ferracci, the teams technical director, added the following: “Overall, I would have liked to have finished the season out with a win, but I am not too much disappointed, we started good, then a lot of little things happened. It is a new bike, and we got to work over the winter to figure out a few things. I think we have some internal communication mistakes towards the end of the season, but overall, we showed that we can go fast. On Sunday, we were going fast in the morning session, but we decided to change the gearing, and it was the wrong move. After the restart, we ran off the track, and punched a hole in the radiator, which caused us to DNF the race."
Ferracci went on to add, “I really want to win, but the competition is very, very tight. You have to have 100% of the package for this class. We have showed that we have it in the past, we just need to keep working on making sure we get it dialed in”.
The team will regroup at the Ferracci raceshop in Willow Grove and plans a full return for the 2012 season.
