Willow Grove, PA (July 11, 2011) – Celtic Racing Fast By Ferracci rider PJ Jacobson had one of “those” weekends at this last round of the AMA Superbike series, held at the famous Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Jacobsen suffered several mechanical issues in both races and finished outside of the top ten.
Eraldo Ferracci, a racetrack veteran and the teams Technical Director, was concise when asked about the weekend’s results. “This weekend was one of the worst weekends of the season. We had a problem with the fuel injection followed by a mechanical parts failure. The next day we had a new engine, and another failure. It was just a bad weekend. But, after all the struggles, you can see that PJ was again near the top when things were OK. PJ did a great job, just like usual. You cant point the finger at any one issues, it was a just a mechanical failure. You have good days in racing and you have your bad days.”
PJ Jacobsen agreed with Ferracci. “Well, it was rough weekend. The team did everything they could on the Dyno ahead of the event, and we just chasing problems all weekend. We took the bike home to Ferracci and worked on it, and well take it from there. And get ready for Laguna. We had some good time on the track, but the bike just wouldn’t run for is when we needed it.”
The team will now focus on the upcoming MotoGP / AMA Pro Racing Superbike event held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.
“PJ really likes Laguna Seca, and our bike should go well there, so we are hoping for some redemption” said Eraldo Ferracci.
